Proposed reforms to introduce a single medicinal cannabis licence and simplify the application process under the Narcotic Drugs Act.
Introduction
The Government proposes to implement a single medicinal cannabis licence under the Narcotic Drugs Act 1967 (the Act) and other associated reforms to the licence application process. These amendments fall within stage 2 of the Government's reform process and will bring into effect Recommendation 7 from the Review of the Narcotic Drugs Act (the Review).
The Office of Drug Control (ODC) will conduct further face to face consultations on the proposed reforms below - these sessions will provide an opportunity for the ODC to explain in more detail the proposed reforms. Feedback on the proposed amendments will also be sought at this time.
